Pres RC compete in Rowing Ireland Virtual Regatta
Congratulations to all the members of the rowing squad who took part in the Rowing Ireland Virtual Regatta over the May bank holiday weekend. The aim of the competition was to cover as much distance as possible over the three days on the indoor rowing machine. Participants could also clock up the miles by cycling or running, all of which had to be done within the set 2k radius of their homes. The average distance covered by our athletes over the weekend was 140 kilometers, with some reaching a total of 200km!
Pres was in first place in Munster going into the final day of the competition, going up against clubs with senior athletes, but unfortunately we were unable to hold onto the lead and lost out to Castleconnel BC of Limerick. Regardless of the result, it was an incredible effort by our rowers and we are very proud of them. Our athletes have maintained their training from home since the school closed and it is hoped we will see a return to the water over the coming months. A big well done to everyone who competed and we hope you enjoy a few well earned days off training!
