Spaces for learning, development & recreation
An overview of our many facilities that support our students learning, development and recreational activities.
5 modern science labs
Science plays a great part in the boys education at PBC and these state of the art labs with all the modern instruments are particularly conducive to learning and experiencing science through experiments.
Fully equipped weights room
Presentation College promotes and encourages our students to participate in physical activity. We strive to provide facilities and programmes that encourage our students to get active and to promote their overall health and fitness.
21 modern classrooms
We have a huge variety of classrooms; art rooms both senior and junior, a fully equipped computer room, language lab, five science labs, demo room, geography room, religious centre, prayer room, drama room and a theatre.
Library
The Seán Ó Faoláin Library (open from 8.35am to 4.15pm everyday and staffed by Ms. Alice Browne) is an essential part of school life. It provides an environment conducive to study, reading and reflection. The library is extremely well stocked and the students are encouraged to use the lending system which is currently being computerised and updated. The library has internet access for students who wish to use this facility and has a dedicated career section.
Art rooms
Featuring both a junior and senior art room, these spaces are tailored for art, with natural light, flexible layouts and a huge variety of materials.
Theatre
The Dan Donovan Theatre is an integral part of the college building. Meetings, talks and lectures take place here on a regular basis. The school play is produced here. Recent Productions have included Philadelphia Here I Come, Sieve and Ten Angry Men. Last years play All My Sons, staged to very large audiences was a great success. The Theatre is named after former Deputy Principal and long time patron of the arts here in Cork, Mr. Dan Donovan.
Sports Fields
The college rugby pitches are in Wilton just a short distance from the school. There are four full playing fields with large off pitch training areas, there is a floodlight training area for the dark winter months, fully equipped changing and shower area complete with ice baths.
Upstairs there is a meeting area and shop. We of course are constantly looking to improve and expand facilities.
Gymnasium
There is a fully equipped gymnasium and weights room in the college where our physical education classes take place. It is an integral part of the extra curricular activities which take place in the school.
